Fiberlogy FiberSmooth Gray is a PVB filament that can be finished smoothly with Isopropanol alcohol (IPA).
With Fiberlogy FiberSmooth Gray print you the most beautifully finished objects. Fiberlogy FiberSmooth is a material based on Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB). After printing, you can finish it completely smoothly with Isopropanol, also known as isopropyl alcohol or simply IPA. Submerge the model in the liquid or use the fumes and the filament will partially dissolve. As a result, the outer contours will flow into each other and the layers will blur. At the same time, the entire model will have a porcelain-like, glossy surface.
3D printing with FiberSmooth is comparable to PLA. It is a print-friendly material and perfectly suited for both beginners and experienced professionals. However, be aware that the adhesion between the layers is weaker. Therefore, we recommend printing at a higher bed temperature to prevent the model from warping. PVB has low shrinkage and is odorless.
