Fiberlogy FiberSmooth Black is a PVB filament that can be finished smoothly with Isopropanol alcohol (IPA).
With Fiberlogy FiberSmooth Black you can print the most beautifully finished objects. Fiberlogy FiberSmooth is a material based on Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB). After printing, you can finish it completely smoothly with Isopropanol, also known as isopropyl alcohol or simply IPA. Dip the model in the liquid or use the vapors and the filament will partially dissolve. This will blend the outer contours together and fade the layers. At the same time, the entire model will have a porcelain-like, glossy surface.
3D printing with FiberSmooth is comparable to PLA. It is a print-friendly material and perfect for both beginners and experienced professionals. However, please note that the adhesion between the layers is weaker. Therefore, we recommend printing at a higher bed temperature to prevent the model from warping. PVB has low shrinkage and is odorless.
