Buy Fiberlogy ABS filament and ASA filament at 3D filamentshop
For the demanding user, Fiberlogy ABS filament is the perfect filament. The high quality and undisputed accuracy of Fiberlogy ABS guarantee excellent results. With Fiberlogy ABS filament, you get a very strong filament.
ABS, which stands for Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene, is very suitable for printing objects that need to withstand impact and higher temperatures. Print Fiberlogy ABS with a hot-end temperature of 250-265°C. It depends on the print speed, so experiment with the correct settings, as this varies for each printer. A heated bed is required for printing ABS filament. ABS is very sensitive to warping / detachment from the print surface, so use a bed temperature of 90-110°C.
To achieve the best results, it is recommended to have a conversion with good ventilation. ABS emits an annoying odor during printing. Ventilation is therefore very important. In addition, a conversion is an ideal solution to prevent temperature fluctuations and thus deformation.
New in our range is Fiberlogy ASA. This can be used as an alternative to Fiberlogy ABS. It is easier to use but has largely the same properties as ABS.
The advantages of ABS filament
- Resistant to higher (ambient) temperatures
- Very strong with high impact resistance and yet flexible.
- Long lifespan and wear-resistant
- Reasonably priced
- High precision
- Easy to work with. Can be painted, glued, and touch up with acetone.
The disadvantages of ABS filament
- Sensitive to changing temperature during printing.
- An annoying plastic odor is released during printing. Ventilate well.
- Not biodegradable, unlike PLA filament, for example.
- Not suitable for use in combination with food.
Tips for printing with ABS filament
- Use a conversion (enclosure) to achieve the best results. This way, you keep the temperature stable and prevent constantly changing conditions.
- ABS emits an annoying odor, so ventilate the room in which your 3D printer is located well.
- Use 3DLAC adhesive spray for better adhesion to the print bed.
- Often, it works best to completely turn off the hotend fan. This prevents deformation of the plastic.
- Use an all-metal hotend or a good PTFE tube suitable for use with higher temperatures.
- Keep an eye on it. ABS filament is printed at high temperature, so keep an eye on the printing process.
- Store ABS filament in a dry and cool (preferably dark) place.
Fiberlogy ABS filament
Choose from one of the many colors of ABS filament to achieve the best result for your project. There is always a color that matches the object. Fiberlogy is known for its premium quality filament that meets the highest quality standards and goes beyond other manufacturers. By maintaining a diameter tolerance of 0.02 mm and a roundness tolerance of 0.01 mm, ABS filament from Fiberlogy distinguishes itself from the rest and brings out the best in your 3D printer. A real winner!
Fiberlogy ASA filament, a print-friendly alternative
Thanks to its resistance to UV radiation, high temperatures, and humidity, Fiberlogy ASA is the perfect choice for all 3D printing applications exposed to weather conditions. It remains strong, retains excellent color, and the result is durable.
Due to its high mechanical resistance and resistance to high temperatures (up to 94°C), along with the ease of printing, this material is an excellent alternative to ABS. ABS has some drawbacks. For example, you need an enclosure to prevent temperature fluctuations and there are many annoying odors emitted during printing.
